Who We Are

OAEOPP (the Ohio Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel) is a community of professionals committed to helping students who want to achieve success in school and in life. We work with TRIO programs that help participants prepare for and succeed in postsecondary education. TRIO programs receive funding from the United States Department of Education. We offer a variety of services to help our participants achieve success. Our participants come from low-income and working families, and most will be members of the first generation in their family to attend college. TRIO program services include the following:  

  • Financial Aid Information and Assistance
  • Career Exploration and Planning
  • Academic Advising
  • College Information and College Placement
  • Study Skills and Test Preparation
  • Cultural Events
  • Academic Instruction

OAEOPP is a member of MAEOPP, the Mid-America Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel, one of the 10 regional associations that comprise the Council for Opportunity in Education. TRIO programs in Ohio receive funding from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Federal TRIO Programs. OAEOPP is a 501 (c) 3 tax exempt organization.


Mission:
The purpose of the Ohio Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel shall be to bring together into a work and study community those persons who have an active interest in or who are professionally involved in broadening accessibility to and success in formal postsecondary education.
