connection. This site was designed by Kenneth Brunner, a mathematics
instructor and former TRIO participant in Ohio, to help students
understand mathematics through visual manipulatives. This site is a
valuable resource for parents and teachers as well for use with young
learners. The Ohio Education and Training Voucher Program offers funds to foster youth and former foster youth to enable them to attend colleges, universities and vocational training institutions. Students may receive up to $5000 a year for four years as they pursue higher education. The funds may be used for tuition, books or qualified living expenses. These funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis to students out of the Ohio foster care system.
Services Online. Information Online. Students.gov, a government-wide web portal that makes it easy for students to find any kind of federal service or information they need. Information about financial aid, career development, education planning, consumer protection and a wide variety of other topics. OhioAccess.org is a web site from the Ohio Board of Regents. OhioAccess.org includes the "Access Pathway Model" and several PowerPoint presentations concerning financial aid and the "The Access Pathway - Overcoming Critical Barriers to Higher Education."
The mission of the Ohio College Access Network is to stimulate the creation of new college access programs in Ohio and provide resources for existing access programs to improve and expand their service delivery.
The Ohio Appalachian Center for Higher Education is a consortium of ten public colleges and universities in the 29 counties of Appalachian Ohio, established by the Ohio General Assembly in 1993 with the mission of increasing the level of educational attainment of residents in this region. The program unites colleges, universities, K–12 schools and the private sector to increase the region's college-going rate, which is currently only half the national average.
The Ohio Association for College Admission Counseling (OACAC) is the statewide organization serving high school guidance counselors, college admission representatives and any other person or groups interacting with students regarding post-secondary education. OACAC seeks to assist students in the transition from secondary to post-secondary education through articulation among the counselors of these students.
